Movies that stay with the heart
There are a few movies that stay with you forever. No matter how many times you’ve watched them, you never think, “Should I watch it again?” Instead, the feeling is always, “Hey! Why not?”
One such movie for me is You’ve Got Mail. It’s special for many reasons – but most importantly, it was the very first movie that Ram and I watched together as husband and wife. Beyond the effortless charm of Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan, beyond the light-hearted and breezy story, this one personal memory makes the film priceless. I’ve truly lost count of how many times I’ve watched it. And yet, even today, if someone were to play it, I’d gladly watch it all over again – with the same smile, the same warmth in my heart.
A Panda’s silent awakening
Another film that has earned a permanent spot on that small, cherished list is Kung Fu Panda. Yes, you heard that right! A film originally made for children and young adults, but one that struck a deep chord with adults too. In fact, most of us felt like it was secretly made for us! It was a film that spoke to the dreamers, the self-doubters, the seekers, and the silent warriors in all of us. A movie that comforted like a friend, inspired like a teacher, and soothed like a warm hug. Whether you needed a shoulder to lean on or just a moment to pause and reflect, Kung Fu Panda had something for everyone – the young, and the young at heart.
There are countless moments in the film that I could write about, but the one that stands out to me the most is Po’s quiet, transformative experience with meditation.
After countless struggles – clumsiness, self-doubt, rejection, and the crushing pressure of being “the Dragon Warrior” – Po, the lovable, unlikely hero, stumbles upon something extraordinary. He learns to be still. To breathe. To simply be. While even his great master, Shifu, wrestled with the art of inner peace, Po embraced it – not with effort, but with surrender. In a moment of deep silence amidst chaos, he discovers the magic of letting go.
What unfolds next feels like magic – but it isn’t magic. It’s the quiet power of non-doing.
The power to calm the storm within.
The power to unlock his true strength.
The power to rise above fear.
It moved me. Because it was true.
We spend so much of our lives chasing greatness – thinking we’ll find it out there, in titles, trophies, or applause. But sometimes, the greatest strength we’ll ever discover is waiting inside – in the space between two breaths. In a moment of quiet. In the miracle of stillness.
The stillness that speaks
Just like that scene, I recently came across a video that stirred something similar in me. A gentle, soul-soothing guided meditation by Eckhart Tolle titled Finding Stillness in the Noise. No preaching. No pressure. Just presence.
With his calm voice, Eckhart reminded me that strength doesn’t always roar. Sometimes, it simply is. That real power doesn’t come from doing more – it comes from being. He said something that truly stayed with me:
Stillness is not the absence of life… It is the source of life.
That line echoed within me for days.
In his words, I heard Po’s journey all over again.
And I heard my own.
We live in a world that rewards speed, noise, and hustle. We think slowing down means we’re falling behind. But maybe, just maybe, the opposite is true. Maybe stillness is where the real magic begins.

Stillness is not the absence of life… it is the source of life.
~ Eckhart Tolle
A leopard, a full moon, and a lesson in trust
What I’m going to write further may revalidate what I’ve already written. But behold! Are you ready to receive more?
At a spiritual retreat, my teacher Mahatria shared something so beautiful, it brought tears to my eyes. He spoke about a conversation he once had with a renowned wildlife photographer. The man had captured many wonders of nature – but there was one shot he had always missed: a big cat with the full moon in the background.
Later, trekking deep in the forest, Mahatria spotted a small mound and told his guide that they would soon see a leopard there – and not just that, it would appear on that full moon night.
No one believed it. How could such a specific moment just happen?
But it did.
That night, under the silver light of the full moon, a majestic leopard appeared – right on that very mound. The guide, unable to contain his excitement, made a soft noise, and the leopard vanished before the perfect shot could be taken.
Still, with a calm heart and a soft smile, Mahatria said, “Let’s come back tomorrow. The leopard will return. We will get the shot.” I can only imagine what the guide must have thought.
But the next night, they returned. And once again, right at the same spot, the big cat appeared – on cue, regal, composed, as if she knew she was being waited for. She stood tall, still, and powerful – as if to say, “Click and be done.” And they did.
But what truly stayed with me was not just the picture.
It was the power of intention born in silence.
That quiet confidence.
That unshakable knowing.
As I was making up my mind to write this piece, I casually flipped through the Infinitheism calendar – and there it was – the leopard, framed by the moon, gracing the month of August. I didn’t even want to see August! And yet, it showed up.
As if to say, “See? Stillness speaks.”
Coming home to ourselves
What touched me the most is this:
When we are still, when we are aligned, the universe listens. Not to our noise, but to our inner quiet.
When our thoughts rise from silence, they become commands to the cosmos.
Aren’t we all like Po in some way? Clumsy. Confused. Searching. Struggling to fit in.
But if he could find stillness, maybe so can we.
So, if your mind feels noisy, or your heart feels heavy… pause.
Breathe.
Be still.
You don’t need to fix everything.
You don’t need to do more.
Maybe what you need… is to just be.
Because stillness is not emptiness – it’s fullness without noise.
It’s not laziness – it’s restful strength.
It’s not giving up – it’s coming home to yourself.
And sometimes, the most powerful thing you can do… is nothing at all.
