A few months ago, I joined a group of people from different walks of life. Our shared belief in living ethically and growing spiritually brought us together. Each week, we meet to celebrate our moments of growth—whether in our careers, personal lives, or spiritual journeys. It’s a space where everyone feels safe and supported; it has become a special part of our lives.
We recently celebrated the incredible work of an amazing woman—a mother of three and homemaker turned entrepreneur. Her skills as a designer and unique crafts, designs, and customizations are ready to amaze the world. As I learned more about her inspiring journey, I also heard about another ‘mompreneur’ who transformed her love for cooking and baking into a thriving business, creating healthy snacks and expanding to London and other cities in Europe.
While I admired their success, I couldn’t help but think about the dedication, hard work, challenges, and sweet victories they must have experienced along the way, especially after being homemakers for so long. Both women have excelled in every role they’ve taken on, and now they’re stepping into a new, exciting chapter where their talents can shine for all to see. Finding a balance between their personal lives and their passion must be a powerful feeling.
Joy of earning through one’s skills
While everyone has the right to choose their path, whether climbing the corporate ladder or embracing the role of a homemaker, there’s something deeply satisfying about earning through one’s skills. The joy and empowerment that comes from this kind of success can’t be put into words, can it?
I have a few friends who absolutely love being homemakers. The joy and happiness they find in caring for their families is beyond measure. As their children grew up and left home, they handled the empty nest syndrome with grace, filling their time with activities that bring them fulfillment. Many of them are now mothers to their own children andothers who need comfort, joy, or a helping hand. Whether teaching or learning a craft, offering solace, or simply being there, they continue to touch many lives. But I should also admit, some couldn’t handle themselves well, as they didn’t know what to do with themselves!

In her autobiography, Indra Nooyi beautifully spoke about the importance of education, purpose, and the empowerment that financial freedom brings. It’s not just about earning a paycheck—it’s about gaining confidence, self-worth, and the freedom to make your own choices.
On the other hand, I also know some friends who had to step up and support their families when life took an unexpected turn. A crisis with family income threw their world into chaos, and their challenges were beyond words.
One of my closest friends went through a similar situation, but she brought her family back on track, all thanks to her education and the job she secured after being out of the workforce for a long time. During the two tough years of Covid, she was the breadwinner, managing everything at home and keeping her family afloat. If it hadn’t been for her education, skills, and past work experience, I can’t imagine what would have happened to her family. Her strength and resilience were truly inspiring!
Ability to face life’s uncertainties
This is the power of financial independence. It doesn’t just provide financial security; it gives women the strength to face life’s uncertainties. Recently, I read Indra Nooyi’s autobiography. She spoke beautifully about the importance of education, purpose, and the empowerment that financial freedom brings. It’s not just about earning a pay check—it’s about gaining confidence, self-worth, and the freedom to make your own choices.
Education and determination can shape lives. When women earn, they secure their futures and uplift their families and communities. It’s not just about success in business; it’s about the inner strength that comes with financial freedom—the ability to make decisions, protect loved ones, and contribute to society in a meaningful way.
Consider the role of a teacher, for instance. Most teachers are women, and the kind of magic they create in the lives of their students is truly remarkable. If these educated women had chosen to stay home, they would undoubtedly have been wonderful, supportive mothers to their children. But as teachers, they hold a magic wand that touches the lives of hundreds of children. In the classroom, they become more than just educators—they become second mothers, guiding, nurturing, and shaping young minds. Their impact extends far beyond their own families, as they help raise the next generation, instilling knowledge, values, and confidence in countless children. What a powerful and beautiful role they play in building the future!
This is true for all women, whether they are artists, entrepreneurs, educators, or even those running small businesses from home. Every role they play holds immense value. The power of a woman who finds financial freedom is limitless. She has the strength to uplift others, the confidence to lead, and the resilience to face any challenge.
To all the women reading this: you have the skills, the voice, and the power to shape your destiny. Whether teaching, crafting, cooking, or leading, the world needs what you have to offer. So, step into your power, embrace your worth, and claim the independence that allows you to live life on your own terms.
You’ve got this!
