The Global Conference for Meditation Leaders (GCML), held on February 21-22, 2025 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, turned out to be a landmark gathering of global leaders, visionaries, and policymakers. The shared mission was clear: to elevate awareness of the transformative power of meditation and advocate for its integration into global policies and daily life.

In his closing remarks,  D.R. Kaarthikeyan, former Director of CBI and Director General of the National Human Rights Commission who is associated with many spiritual organizations, emphasized the need to make meditation a global movement. He lauded the participation of spiritual masters and eminent speakers, reinforcing the commitment to spreading meditation worldwide.

GCML was organized by Buddha-CEO Quantum Foundation, headed by Chandra Pulamarasetti. Inspired by Brahmarshi Patriji, it has been instrumental in promoting AnaPana Sati (breath awareness) meditation as part of its mission.

As Conference Chairman, Kaarthikeyan read out the Resolution, unanimously adopted, highlighting that meditation should be encouraged across all sectors, including education, government bodies and private organizations.

Subsequently, he submitted this Resolution to the President and Prime Minister of India, to be followed by its presentation to the United Nations and global leaders.

Meditation as a Universal Remedy

The Resolution quotes the UNESCO Preamble which states, “Violence and negativity begin in the minds of individuals; therefore, the remedy must also be cultivated in the minds of individuals.” Each person is a foundational unit of families, societies, nations, and the world at large. To address pressing global issues—rising crime, addiction, violence, corruption, exploitation, environmental degradation, and injustice—the solution must begin at an individual level. Meditation, as a tool for inner transformation, holds the potential to bring peace, justice, and harmony at both personal and global scales.

India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi reaffirmed India’s commitment to “One Earth, One Family, One Future” at the UN Summit of the Future last year. Meditation, India’s gift to the world, can help, as acknowledged by the UN while declaring December 21 as World Meditation Day.

A Global Movement for Meditation

On September 23rd, 2024, while addressing the UN Summit of the Future, India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, reaffirmed India’s commitment to “One Earth, One Family, One Future.” Like yoga, meditation is India’s gift to the world. In recognition of meditation’s universal benefits, the UN has officially declared December 21 as World Meditation Day—a significant step in acknowledging its role in global well-being.

The key challenge now is implementation—integrating meditation into homes, schools, workplaces, governmental institutions, and NGOs. The Global Conference on Project Meditation was conceived as a formal platform to present this initiative to policymakers and global leaders, reinforcing meditation’s role in fostering inner peace and planetary well-being.

Meditation: The Path to Inner and Global Change

Meditation is not merely a spiritual or philosophical practice – it is a scientific and practical tool essential for everyone. By fostering inner change, we can bring about a global transformation.

It is time for individuals, families, organizations, and governments to embrace meditation to cultivate health, happiness, harmony, peace, and prosperity for all. The vision of this Resolution is to create a world free from war and violence, driven by inner peace and awareness.

Resolution: A Collective Commitment

The Global Conference of Meditation Leaders 2025 marked a turning point in positioning meditation as a key strategy for holistic well-being. The Resolution reflects the shared vision, research, and actionable steps agreed upon to integrate meditation into global policies, education, healthcare, businesses, and everyday life. As an appeal to leaders across government, education, healthcare, business, and non-profit sectors, this Resolution urges the adoption of meditation as a universal practice to promote peace, harmony, justice, and prosperity worldwide.

Through inner transformation, we can collectively shape a more just, peaceful, and sustainable future – one mindful breath at a time.
