Awakening through sound: Vibhushri Rivesh Vade on releasing deep-rooted patterns

In this illuminating conversation, Nadayogi Vibhushri Rivesh Vade, the Mumbai based sound healing pioneer, reveals how sacred frequencies can gently transform our deepest patterns, release ancestral wounds, and open us to higher states of awareness.

Nadayogi Vibhushri Rivesh Vade, a Mumbai-based sound healing practitioner and founder of Bodh Marga, has impacted thousands of lives across India and globally through his work with transformative sound frequencies. His approach uniquely integrates ancient sonic practices with contemporary concepts such as DNA memory, neuroplasticity, and consciousness studies.

A Lotus in the Mud writer Navni Chawla met him in Mumbai for a conversation to explore the depth and scope of his work. In this exclusive interview, Vibhushri explains how sound can help release deeply ingrained emotional and ancestral patterns, influence the body at a cellular level, and facilitate shifts that go beyond traditional frameworks of mental rewiring.

Drawing from his personal journey, including profound near-death experiences (NDE), he offers insights into expanded states of awareness and the vast, often untapped, potential of human consciousness.

Vibhushri Rivesh Vade: I lived most of my corporate life in the mind – driven by achievement, constantly pushing myself. In that rush, I stopped noticing life itself – the sound of birds, the fragrance of the earth.

The more you run, the more the body asks for rest. Ignoring it takes a toll.

In 2012, a near-death accident changed everything. In that moment, I felt a powerful awakening at the navel – a realization that true intuition and deeper intelligence come from within, not just the mind.

My journey taught me that real growth is about connecting with the Self. When you move from the mind to this deeper center, life expands beyond small desires into a greater purpose.

That experience became the beginning of my spiritual path – where I began exploring sound, frequency, and ancient wisdom not just as teachings, but as a living science that can transform life.

Vibhushri: From as early as the 8th standard, I immersed myself in diverse knowledge—Indian masters, global authors, multiple disciplines. Over time, I noticed a pattern: most methods create only temporary change. You shift your mindset, feel better for a while, then slip back into old cycles – because the root hasn’t changed.

True transformation must go deeper – into our conditioning at the DNA level.

In our sound healing workshops, we work at that root. Those who come to us have often tried everything – therapy, courses, books – yet still seek something lasting.

Through Nadayoga, combined with epigenetics, yogic science, and navel-centre activation, we use sound to access subtle layers beyond the mind. Sound reaches where cognition cannot.

My mission is to decode ancient wisdom and make it experiential for modern life – bridging scriptures and science.

When transformation happens through sound, it’s not just mental – it’s cellular. And that’s what makes it lasting.

Vibhushri: This is not a practice-based workshop. There are no techniques or effort – only deep listening to healing sound frequencies.

Integration may take time, but the shift begins from day one. As inner patterns break, outer life starts responding – often bringing clarity in business, relationships, and finances.

To sustain this shift, we offer sound tracks and tools. Without them, the mind can pull one back into old patterns. The path, however, remains effortless – you don’t have to do, only listen.

At the heart of Bodhmarga Foundation I set up is one principle: Sahaj Uddhar – natural, effortless upliftment. Growth need not come through struggle.

As Sant Dnyaneshwar taught: live in the world, but refine yourself within it.

“Do not become Yogmukhi. Do not become Manmukhi. Simply become Gurmukhi.”

Align with higher guidance, and transformation becomes natural – that is the essence of our work.

Naad Yoga, says Vibhushri Rivesh Vade, returns you to your inner sound. From that space, life aligns, and a quiet joy - Ananda - emerges.

Vibhushri: Our DNA is not static – it is responsive. Research suggests that sound and frequency can influence DNA activity, including processes like methylation.

Simply put, methylation reflects openness and adaptability – it is strong in childhood. Over time, with stress and trauma, this flexibility reduces, and patterns become rigid, leading to repetitive emotional and behavioral cycles.

Emotions themselves are frequency – every feeling carries a vibration. And what is frequency can be influenced by frequency.

Through specific healing sound resonances, we work at this subtle level – helping loosen rigid patterns and create space for new responses. Sound becomes a bridge between emotional states and deeper biological processes.

This is how we address ancestral and behavioral imprints – not just psychologically, but vibrationally.

Vibhushri: Every emotion carries a vibration – evident in how our voice shifts with anger, fear, or stress. These states trigger biochemical responses, including stress hormones like cortisol.

When emotions are suppressed, they remain stored in the body, creating imbalance. Healing sound frequencies work at a subtle level to release these patterns.

As the body resonates with harmonious sound, the nervous system relaxes, supporting better hormonal and neurotransmitter balance. Over time, this brings emotional release, clarity, and inner harmony – making sound a powerful tool for realignment.

Vibhushri: Host frequency is your natural vibration – your true essence, carrying your talents and purpose. When you are aligned with it, life feels effortless, creative, and energised.

Guest frequencies are borrowed – patterns absorbed from family, society, and environment. Living through them feels draining and inauthentic.

Think of your inner world as a house: you are the host. Guests can visit, but if they take over, you lose yourself.

Returning to your host frequency begins with simple daily pauses – quiet moments to connect with breath and inner presence. Sound accelerates this, working directly with vibration. Even nature – the chirping of birds or ocean waves – gently brings us back into harmony.

Purpose becomes clear only when guest frequencies dissolve. What remains is your authentic expression.

Through voice scanning, we read these patterns in your voice – revealing what is natural and what is layered. As emotional residues clear, the voice softens, communication improves, and alignment deepens.

Rooted in Nadayoga, sound becomes a path inward – releasing stored emotions and reconnecting you to your inner truth. True expression, like singing, then arises naturally – not as performance, but as healing.

When you return to your host frequency, life begins to flow – in health, relationships, work, and inner well-being – because you are finally living as your true self.

Vibhushri: Naad Yoga is the path of inner listening – aligning your being with the deeper sound within.

It speaks of two sounds:

•          Ahad Naad – external, created sound

•          Anhad Naad – inner, unstruck sound arising from consciousness

As you tune into this inner sound, it becomes your guide – beyond external noise and opinions.

This sound moves through layers: from the navel (pure intuition), to the heart (colored by emotions), to expression (shaped by the mind). Along the way, it gets distorted by karmic patterns, emotional residue, and conditioning. Naad Yoga is the process of bringing this scattered sound back to its pure source.

This connects deeply with the wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita – living in alignment with Swadharma (true purpose) and guided by inner intelligence (Buddhi Yoga). When we stray, confusion and struggle arise; when aligned, life flows.

Most of our reactions come from conditioned emotions, creating further karmic cycles. Naad Yoga helps dissolve these patterns – at the level of the navel and even deeper conditioning – restoring balance.

It doesn’t require effort, only listening.

As this listening deepens, a natural state of Ananda (inner bliss) arises – not from achievement, but from inner harmony. When we stop listening, disconnection begins; when we return, clarity and well-being follow.

Ultimately, Naad Yoga leads us inward where the unstruck sound, Anhad Naad, reveals itself, and life aligns with its highest truth.

Vibhushri: Neuroplasticity explains how the brain rewires with effort and repetition. Yet many people, despite awareness and intention, remain stuck in the same patterns. This is because the mind is not the deepest layer – our neurology is shaped by genetics, and inherited patterns can override conscious change.

This is where DNA re-patterning and sound work become relevant. Sound operates beyond the intellect, working at a vibrational level to gradually shift deeply embedded patterns within our biology.

Drawing from epigenetics, we understand that while DNA itself remains unchanged, its expression can evolve with environment and experience. As gene expression shifts, so do behaviour, emotional responses, body language, and communication. These subtle changes ripple outward – improving relationships, clarity, and overall harmony.

The goal is not to change DNA, but to retrain its expression. Over time, as emotional and behavioural patterns reorganise, a person’s entire presence transforms – becoming more aligned, सहज, and impactful to others.

Ancient wisdom, like the Bhagavad Gita, mirrors this journey. Its first chapter, Vishada Yoga, shows how despair can trigger inner seeking. The second introduces Sthitaprajna – a state of deep inner stability and clarity. True understanding comes not from reading, but from living this wisdom.

Transformation cannot be forced. Like a flower, it unfolds when one becomes receptive – often through life’s challenges, which initiate deeper inquiry.

At its core, this work brings us back to one essential question: Are we truly listening?

In a world of noise and conditioning, we lose touch with our inner intelligence. Through sound and awareness, these layers dissolve. The mind quiets, expression becomes authentic, and purpose reveals itself naturally.

This is the essence of Naad Yoga – not adding anything new, but returning to your inner sound. From that space, life aligns, and a quiet joy – Ananda – emerges.

Where science, sound, yoga, and consciousness meet, true transformation begins.
