View all postsDr. Faroque Khan is Professor of Medicine at Stony Brook University. He is an internal medicine specialist/pulmonologist, and was the chair of medicine at Nassau County Medical Center from 1987-1999. He is one of the founding members of the Islamic Center of Long Island in Westbury, NY, and Founder and Chairman of the Interfaith Institute of Long. Dr Khan has served as president of Nargis Dutt Memorial Foundation, as Regent of the American College of Physicians, President of Islamic Medical Association of North America (IMANA), and was on the Majlis Shura of the Islamic Society of North America. Dr Khan has received many awards for his interfaith work.

View all postsDr. Arfa Khan is Professor Emeritus of Radiology, Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell and former Chief of Thoracic Radiology at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. She is one of the founding members of the Islamic Center of Long Island as well as a board member of the Interfaith Institute of Long Island. She is a co-founder of the interfaith group called AMJID (American Muslims and Jews in Dialogue) and has presented perspectives on Islam in general and Muslim women in particular at many houses of worship.
She is of Kashmiri heritage, as is her husband of almost six decades, Dr. Faroque Khan. They live in Jericho on Long Island.
