The two-day virtual Peace Summit made renewed calls for nonviolence, compassion, and ethical leadership as internationally respected leaders, spiritual voices, and change-makers addressed growing social division and global unrest. The May2-3 event featured keynote addresses by Ela Gandhi and Lama Thubten Wangchen, who spoke on the importance of dialogue, inner transformation, and collective responsibility in maintaining peace in society.
Ela Gandhi, renowned peace activist and granddaughter of Mahatma Gandhi, delivered a message centered on nonviolence, ethical responsibility, and the role of individuals in shaping peaceful societies. Her address emphasized that sustainable peace begins at a personal level and must be practiced consistently in everyday life.
Lama Thubten Wangchen, a Buddhist monk and disciple of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, reinforced this message by emphasizing compassion, kindness, and inner stability. His reflections highlighted the importance of emotional resilience and collective responsibility in addressing global challenges.
The Peace Summit also featured sessions on interfaith harmony, women’s leadership in peacebuilding, and the role of global partnerships in fostering long-term stability.
The event attracted a diverse international audience, reflecting a growing demand for meaningful dialogue and solutions-oriented leadership.
“The response to the summit demonstrates a clear global need for platforms that prioritize understanding, empathy, and collaboration,” said Peace Ambassador Ritu Chopra, president. “This is not just a conversation; it is a call to action.”
Participants described the event as impactful, timely, and deeply relevant, underscoring the importance of creating spaces where diverse perspectives can come together constructively.
The organizers plan to continue building on this momentum through future initiatives that support leadership development, cross-cultural collaboration, and sustainable peace efforts.
