To understand the World Tribal Alliance, one must first walk the arc of the man whose inner journey gave birth to it. Mohanji is not easily defined. Spiritual teacher, humanitarian, global citizen, mystic wanderer—each description captures only a facet of a presence that continues to evolve, quietly but powerfully, across continents and communities.
Born in Kerala, India (in 1965), Mohanji once walked a path of corporate ambition. He held a well-paying job in the Middle East and lived the suburban dream. But the turning point came with the loss of his young daughter—that sorrow cracked open the safe world of achievement and pointed him toward a deeper compass. He left the job, left the outward chase, and drifted into the silent wilderness of his being. From that rupture emerged an inner spring, and what may have shattered another became for him a doorway into the silence beyond grief.
That inner awakening reshaped the course of his life. What emerged was not a renunciate retreating from the world, but a modern mystic walking fully in it: an ordinary man living an extraordinary consciousness.
From Inner Stillness to Global Action
Over the years, Mohanji’s work expanded from guiding seekers into self-awareness to building institutions that reflect his values: compassion, service, and collective upliftment. His message has always been simple: “Liberation is not elsewhere; it is in how we live, love, and serve right here.”
Today, the web of organizations he has founded spans nearly every dimension of life: spiritual, humanitarian, cultural, ecological, and educational. Each carries a distinct purpose, yet all are bound by a single pulse—ahimsa, the principle of non-violence in thought, word, and action.
At the heart lies the Mohanji Foundation, the umbrella organization that carries his spiritual mission across more than 90 countries. Through meditations, teachings, workshops, and global satsangs, the Foundation helps people cultivate awareness and stability in a chaotic world. Mohanji’s path, often called the Path of Pathlessness, encourages freedom from rigid dogma and direct personal experience of consciousness.
He teaches presence more than philosophy. There are no promises of miracles, only the reminder: You are the path. You are the destination.
Service as a Way of Life
If the Foundation is the spiritual wing, then ACT Foundation (and its Indian sister, Ammucare Charitable Trust) are the hands and heart of his mission. Founded after personal loss, these organizations embody selfless service (seva) in action. They run feeding programs, healthcare outreach, women’s empowerment, and animal welfare across many countries.
During the pandemic, ACT’s volunteers reached thousands with food, medicines, and compassion. But the work goes far beyond charity; it’s about restoring dignity and reminding people that service is sacred. “When compassion becomes action,” Mohanji often says, “it ceases to be a concept and becomes a way of life.”

Bridging Faiths and Cultures
To unite people beyond the boundaries of religion or ideology, he established the Mohanji Peace Centre, a growing network of hubs serving as sanctuaries for meditation, interfaith dialogue, and conscious living. Each center is a living reminder that inner peace is inseparable from world peace.
Parallel to this, schools such as the Himalayan School of Traditional Yoga, the Himalayan School of Traditional Languages, and the Himalayan School of Traditional Dance were created to preserve India’s timeless heritage. These programs restore the essence of ancient learning, discipline, devotion, and awareness, stripped of the commercial packaging that often clouds spiritual traditions today.
His Mohanji Ka Aangan initiative nurtures underprivileged children through education, nutrition, and value-based growth. At the same time, the Empowered Women Platform supports women stepping into authentic power, not through competition, but through confidence and compassion.
From the Himalayas to the World
Mohanji’s global journey has taken him from the high plateaus of Ladakh to the Andes, from Indian ashrams to Western cities. Yet in every place the essence remains the same—awakening consciousness through direct experience, not theory. He has been honored by spiritual leaders and governments alike, recognized for his humanitarian work and his contributions to global harmony. Yet he wears none of it as a badge. Simplicity remains his signature; service, his prayer.
The Birth of the World Tribal Alliance
It is perhaps inevitable that a man who sees no separation between spirit and soil would be called to create something like the World Tribal Alliance. After years of teaching self-connection, Mohanji turned his gaze outward and asked, “How can this awareness heal the world?”
The answer arrived in the form of reconnecting humanity with its first teachers —the indigenous communities who have always lived in harmony with the Earth. Through the Alliance, Mohanji extends his message from the meditation hall to the mountains, from inner transformation to planetary stewardship.
A Living Legacy
Mohanji’s life and work remind us that spirituality is not an escape from the world, but a deeper entry into it. His institutions form a constellation of compassion—each a doorway into a more conscious way of living, each a bridge between inner awakening and collective well-being.
To those who meet him, he is neither guru nor preacher, but a mirror—reflecting what already shines within. And perhaps that is the quiet secret of his path: not to create followers, but to awaken leaders; not to build temples of stone, but to restore the temple within each human heart.
