Jesus told his disciples, “Truly I say to you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you”.
~ The Bible: Matthew 17:20
From Hinduism, a quote by Saint Tulsidas states that with faith, the impossible becomes possible through the grace of God; even a mute person can start speaking, and a person with a disability can climb a mountain.
Most pilgrimages in all religious traditions have origins in miraculous happenings. With faith in their hearts, pilgrims seek the grace of God, which is known by different names in various traditions.
Take the Amarnath Yatra. Hundreds of thousands of pilgrims travel to the Amarnath cave in Kashmir, India, each summer to witness the naturally formed ice Shivling, a sacred symbol of Lord Shiva.
For Abhishek Mishra and his family in Edison, New Jersey, faith was profoundly deepened closer to home, through a series of mysterious events unfolding in their own residence.
The Mishras, a devoutly religious family, say they cannot thank Lord Shiva enough for blessing their home, according to a statement they released.
Abhishek Mishra, a seasoned corporate professional, has shared with the press that naturally formed (Swayambhu) images of Shiva have appeared both inside and outside his home without any human intervention.

Abhishek Mishra implores people to recognize the presence of a Divine Power. What is more important, he says, “aligning with that Divine Power will make our life happy, peaceful, and prosperous.”
Blessed by Lord Shiva with his divine presence
“Lord Shiva, we call him Shankar Bhagwan, has blessed our home, and we feel his divine presence on our property all the time,” said Mishra, whose family resides at 25 Lavender Drive in Edison, in the area commonly known as Little India.
Among the “astonishing phenomena” at the Mishra residence was a Shivling forming naturally from winter ice, while a 50-foot depiction of Lord Shiva holding a trident appeared in the backyard snow. Inside the home, an image of Shiva with Nandi appeared on the bathroom tiles, and another meditative form of Shiva emerged from the ice. Abhishek Mishra adds that, “as word has spread, many people have been eager to witness this remarkable event, calling it a true spiritual wonder. For many believers, the formations at our house are a sign of divine blessings, strengthening their faith and devotion.“
A Call for Interfaith Harmony: The Broader Spiritual Message
Described as an “intuitive person,” Mishra wants to convey a broader spiritual message, to create interfaith harmony. He encourages those willing to listen to recognize the presence of a Divine Power, known by different names across religions and worshipped in different forms. “What is more important for us ordinary folk,” he says, “is that aligning with that Divine Power will make our worldly life happy, peaceful, and prosperous.”
