who am I poem

“Where do I belong” is an
ongoing odyssey.
Questions like identity, purpose,
Self-worth, belonging, roles, and masks
become constant companions
Seeking truths I know are there.

My security blanket, the inner self,
Echoes wisdom from my hidden place.
Where do I belong? asked the mind.
Do I belong to the
roles I play each day?
My inner self said,
No that belongs to the cosmic drama.

What would you carry in the
afterlife knapsack?
Will you carry the valuables you collected?
But they belong to the Earth!
Will you carry memories?
But they belong to time!

Relationships?
But they belong to the path you travel!
Your creativity belongs to situations!
Your body belongs to nature!
Your existence belongs to the universe!
Would you carry your soul?
But your soul belongs to the creator!!!

Nothing belongs to me?
True! Nothing ever belonged to you!
Was it an epiphany,
or an ugly truth,
that I chose to ignore.

Then what is mine??
And the inner voice unveiled the truth
“Your Experiences”
“Your Moments“

Boom!!! I had an awakening,
All the mental chatter quietens down.
My inner self was peaceful
for it reflected the truth.
Through this secret, sacred talk
My inner voice became my constant companion
A deeper understanding springs

Where do I belong?

I belong to the love I give and receive.
I belong to the roles shaped by my will!
I belong to the moments that I craft!
In these intangible moments
My legacy, I see.

Not every human gets a chance to understand human life and his own birth. it is Well defined in Hindu dharma.
You are born again and again, this is not first and last birth.
If you are today happy or miserable, it is not due to others but due to your past and present karma.
These teachings are not given at home nor in any school today and that is cause of many wars and unhappiness.

Extremely insightful, overwhelmed by the beauty of simplicity and irony of depth in the same! I genuinely feel this poem is a translation of an ever expanding universe and a small secret it holds within!
