Balancing your chakras with Aromatherapy

When the chakras, or energy vortexes in the body, are blocked or out of whack, correctly chosen essential oils can induce spiritual healing.

When my graphic design business came to a screeching halt during the Covid lockdown in India in 2020, I refused to feel stuck. Instead, I immersed myself in Reiki and Pranic Healing, therapies I had learned 15 years prior, and meditated on the changes I knew the world would have to make when the lockdown ended.

Around this time, a young woman named Meenu I had helped rise from poverty and stagnation gathered the courage to leave her painful marriage and came to me seeking a brighter future.

That was a sign from the heavens. With Meenu as my right-hand woman,  I set about investigating the possibilities of spreading consciousness, inner strength, and creativity via the aromas associated with the body’s seven energy chakras. Thus was born Praana – an online store offering little gifts of light, soul, and consciousness.

I did not invent Aromatherapy, only adapted it for purposes deeper and higher than it is generally used. The use of essential oils to promote healing and well-being has been around for almost five thousand years in Egypt, China, and India.
In ancient Egypt, aromatic botanicals were used, like cinnamon, juniper, and cedar, along with resins like myrrh and frankincense, in the mummification process.
In China, aromatic oils were used during the reign of the Yellow Emperor (2697-2597 BCE), whose medical treatise is considered a classic.
Indian Ayurvedic texts list natural organic substances like sandalwood, ginger, and cinnamon, which aid the healing process.
According to Hippocrates, known as the Father of Medicine, the best way to gain good health is to have a scented massage and an aromatic bath every day. This awakens your natural healing energies.
One of the critical principles of aromatherapy is that essential oils can help to balance and restore energy flow to our chakras. The seven chakras are subtle energy centers that are responsible for various physical and emotional processes.

When our chakras are out of whack or blocked, it can cause physical or emotional symptoms such as pain, illness, anxiety, or depression. Aromatherapy can help to restore balance and flow to the chakras by using essential oils, corresponding to the color and function of each chakra.
For my Praana Chakra Collection, I have crafted every aroma candle and essential oil to resonate with each Chakra. The oils have a wide range of therapeutic benefits and are deeply connected to Chakra healing, harmonizing seamlessly to help you derive rich benefits. It invokes bliss in the surroundings while inviting peace into your mind, body, and soul.
Here is a description of each of the seven chakras, its function, and the aromas that reverberate with it.

Mūlādhāra Chakra
Existence | Sandalwood
Located at the base of the spine, red in color, it is associated with the element of earth. The scent of sandalwood helps balance and energize this chakra to strengthen our existence and bring about a sense of being grounded.

Svādhiṣṭhāna Chakra

Manipura Chakra

Says Tanya Singh, tarot-numerologist and Reiki healer, “Ever since I tried my first Praana aroma massage oil and roll-on, I have become a huge fan! I highly recommend Praana products to anyone who is keen to strengthen their well-being.”

In addition to using essential oils, you can do chakra balancing with meditation, yoga, and energy healing practices such as Reiki and acupuncture.
